LT Design Studio was hired by a client in Chattanooga, TN to provide landscape architectural services for a luxury modern home in a historic neighborhood overlooking the city. The compact urban site presented considerable design challenges, but also ample opportunities to integrate the building and the site. An intimate backyard pool and spa were designed to create a private retreat while accentuating the linear forms of the building. A mature dogwood tree in the front yard was preserved as a stunning focal point. The lush canopy integrates with the interior spaces through the expansive windows at the front of the building. A series of low walls and native pollinator plantings in the front yard create a semi-private lawn and welcoming entrance from the walkable neighborhood.
